When I first got into 3D printing, I honestly underestimated how much the material choice would shape the final result. PLA felt forgiving and affordable, great for detailed display models, but I quickly noticed it lacked strength under heat. Switching to ABS gave me tougher parts, though warping and fumes added cost and effort. PETG landed somewhere in between, flexible enough to survive drops while still keeping decent detail.
